DODGEN
Catalytic Structured Packing
Integrates reaction and distillation, a catalyst support structure for multiphase catalysis.
Structured Catalytic Packing for Reactive Distillation Columns
Structured catalytic packing is applied in DODGEN reactive distillation columns designed for gas–liquid reaction systems.
The core objective is to integrate catalytic reaction and mass separation within the same column and the same packing section.
Catalyst particles are mechanically fixed between two layers of metal wire mesh and combined with corrugated-sheet structured packing.
This configuration forms a sandwich-type structure with defined inclination angles and hydraulic diameters, establishing controlled flow channels for simultaneous reaction and separation.
Adopts an innovative composite structure featuring a “sandwich” + “corrugated-sheet sandwich” design
Equipment Configuration and Structural Design
Outer Corrugated-Sheet Structured Packing
The outer layer is constructed from high-performance metal corrugated sheets and forms the primary gas–liquid mass transfer channels.
Its corrugated geometry promotes uniform fluid distribution and efficient mass transfer.
This outer structure also functions as a mechanical enclosure, preventing catalyst loss while maintaining structural stability under operating conditions.
Inner Catalyst Pocket
The inner catalyst pocket acts as the primary reaction zone.
It is a dedicated chamber loaded with solid catalyst pellets.
A microporous metal mesh wall allows reaction fluids to pass freely and contact the catalyst surface, while securely retaining the catalyst particles within the packing structure.
Modular Integrated Unit Design
The complete packing assembly is manufactured as standardized modular units.
This modular approach allows precise definition of reaction-zone position and height within the column.
Installation, removal, and replacement can be performed efficiently, supporting flexible column configuration and maintenance planning.
Equipment Manufacturing and Quality Control
DODGEN operates a dedicated production line for structured catalytic packing and applies a certified ISO quality management system throughout manufacturing.
High-grade metal strips and wire mesh are selected at the material stage.
Automated welding, weaving, and assembly processes ensure consistent mechanical strength and dimensional accuracy.
This manufacturing approach minimizes catalyst abrasion and prevents particle loss under high-velocity gas–liquid flow conditions.
The result is stable long-term performance and extended service life under industrial operating environments.
